3 arrested in Kasoa, all from Sogakope

Information circulating on social media has it that three persons from Sogakope have been arrested in Obom, Kasoa.

Yesterday, Gunnery Sergeant David Amanyese Azantilow, Lance Corporal Jackson Attah Dadzie, and three other ranks arrested Bright Awuya, Franklin Tetteh, and Ansong Stephen.

Their arrest, just like many others, has been linked to the murder of Hon. Marcus Mawutor Adzhali, Assemblyman for Sogakope South.

However, it is still uncertain.

The District Chief Executive (DCE) for South Tongu, Hon. Emmanuel Luis Agamah, on 13th March 2020 assured residents of Sogakope in a press release that progress is being made to bring Mawutor’s killers to book while urging them to be on the lookout for bad elements.

His vague statement leaves us wondering about earlier arrests allegedly linked to the murder case.

This new information is no doubt similar.

Bright Awuya’s family heard of the arrest but disagree with its link to the late Sogakope South Assemblyman.

However, we’ve reached out to Gunnery Sergeant David Amanyese Azantilow for confirmation on the arrest and more.

Also, a group of policemen and crime scene investigators were at the crime scene this afternoon to collect more evidence for investigation.
