Issy Yona believes it’s about time he gets known.
To prove his seriousness, he’s putting in plans to take over the music scene, at least in South Tongu.
The Afro-pop musician is closing in on a deal with a video production company that will be responsible for all his music videos.
BHTC production has already shot 3 of his music videos including ‘Crushing on You’, a song he dropped on the 12th of May 2021 on YouTube. Watch video below
When they finally agree, BHTC will shoot all his music videos.
He feels this is a step in the right direction as he has stayed underground for far too long, partly because of lack of promotion.
Israel Kudiabor says he didn’t pay much attention to promoting his songs in the past. He also said he had very little support.
One would think that these challenges would cause him to give up, but they rather directed him.
He told Soga WeDey in an interview that he feels more strongly that the time has come to get known. But there’s one problem.
As the owner of Green Earth Academy, he mostly covers his afro hair when in school, something he wouldn’t do performing. He said many people think that music is not for his kind. That explains why he’s still into music: to prove a point. He feels when given the same platform he can match up with the greats.

Music was not the only thing he did throughout those years. He taught at a private school for 3 years, resigned at a point to start his own. He calls this school Green Earth Academy.
Green Earth Academy was once called Yona Child. ‘Yona’ is a name he adopted along his musical journey, same as ‘Issy’. He has a movement called ‘Yonation’, a recording studio called ‘Yonation’ records and a hair salon called ‘Yonation’ haircut.
