Ben-Doe Foundation donates teaching and learning materials to Volta Senior High
Handing over ceremony

Ben-Doe Foundation has collaborated with some U.S. and Germany based donors to donate teaching and learning materials to the Volta Senior High School (Voltasco) in the Anloga District of the Volta Region on Monday, 19th April 2021.

The items include 5 white marker boards with cleaners and markers, 6 plastic chairs, and 10 literature books.

They were presented by Mr. Benjamin Azieve, CEO of the Foundation.

At a short ceremony at the school, he discussed his ambitions and how this donation is a step in the right direction.

He said, “… coming to Voltasco was a blessing in disguise… I told myself I have to cause a change. These things you see are not much, they are things some donors have helped me to donate to Voltasco… I promise to give back to society… so this is the little I want to offer to Voltasco for now.”

The items were received on behalf of the school by the assistant headmaster Mr. Sebastian Kumahor.

He thanked Mr. Benjamin and his donors for their support and urged them to support the school in other areas.

“On behalf of the headmaster, staff, and students, we would like to say a big thank you to our guests as well as our donors for the support given the school at this trying moment… We are most grateful for the honor. We equally appreciate your coming and we pray that this would not be a one-time event. In the days or months to come, we pray that you will support us in other ways.”

The students were also grateful for the support. Their representatives recognized the impact of the items on teaching and learning especially the white marker boards and the literature books.

However, some mentioned that they have other needs. One male student told us that they need an I.C.T lab and a siren.

“We are very grateful for the things you brought to us. We are not saying this is not enough but if you can help us with a computer lab and a siren we would be very grateful. A computer lab would enhance our learning as well.”

Ben-Doe Foundation seeks to give an all-inclusive atmosphere for vulnerable students to achieve academic excellence.
