COVID-19 Fight: Hon. Woyome joins Volta regional minister and other officials in Ketu South

The Volta Regional Minister, Hon. Archibald Y. Letsa on Thursday, 16th April 2020, led a team of honorable ministers and commanding officers on a tour to the Ketu South Municipality as part of efforts to address issues relating to the fight against the spread of the Coronavirus in the Region, and the Municipality. 

Addressing their council meeting at the Municipal Assembly Hall, the regional minister said in a statement that he commended members for their commitment and efforts while entreating them to continue to be proactive considering the nature of the situation in the Municipality.

Speaking on the stranded students at the Aflao border, he said: “… the situation in Aflao needs to be handled with extra care in order to get the cooperation of the youth who seemed not to appreciate the time in which we are.”

“I understand the effect of the temporal closing of the border on the people of the area. In that regard, I would not hesitate in recommending to the government the provision of some relief packages to vulnerable people in the area.“

Dr. Archibald Y. Letsa said he was happy seeing the Constituency Chairmen of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Samuel Wisdom Haligah and Mr. Bright  Kwaku Kumordzi at the meeting.

He emphasized the need to collaborate with all political parties to ensure the success of all directives, while acknowledging the call for unity and collaboration among all political actors by Hon. Member of Parliament for Ho West, Mr. Emmanuel k. Bedzrah.

After the meeting, members of the team visited the Victory Fm, Holy Fm, Security Agencies at the boarder, and ended at the Municipal hospital.

Present at the meeting was the Member of Parliament for South Tongu, Hon. Kobla Mensah Wisdom Woyome.
