COVID-19 update: South Tongu District records 7 new cases on Saturday

The South Tongu District Health Directorate has confirmed seven (7) new coronavirus cases in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region. 

This was announced on Saturday, 16th January 2021, after 40 persons were tested in the district. 

Following the news, Hon. Emmanuel Agamah, South Tongu District Chief Executive has called for adherence towards COVID-19 safety measures. 

“Let’s practice safety protocols and avoid getting infected”, he said in a statement. 

Meanwhile, the president of the Republic of Ghana Nana Akufo-Addo will on Sunday, 17th January 2021, address the country on measures taken against the spread of the virus. 

This will be aired on major news networks across the country. 

Coronavirus cases in the Volta Region 

As of Sunday, 17th January 2021, the number of confirmed cases in the Volta Region rose by 19 new cases, making it a total of 790 confirmed cases.
