President of the Republic of Ghana H.E Nana Akufo-Addo
Akufo-Addo

Director of Communications at the Presidency, Eugene Arhin has today, Sunday, 5th July 2020, debunked a story published by the Herald newspaper which says the President of the Republic of Ghana, H.E Nana Akufo-Addo has been flown out of the country for COVID-19 treatment.

According to the Director of Communications, this news is false and that the public should disregard it. He said the president is currently complying with COVID-19 protocols at his villa in the Jubilee House.

Showing a picture of the president and his family, Eugene wrote:

“Kindly disregard the FALSE STORY published by the Herald Newspaper to the effect that the President was on Saturday “flown out of the country to London for COVID-19 treatment”. It is clearly a figment of the author’s imagination.

The President is in the country, and he’s currently at the Presidential Villa in Jubilee House, observing the 14-day self-isolation precautionary measure, in compliance with COVID-19 protocols.“
