The management of the Ghana Education Service (GES) has extended the reopening date for SHS 1 students to Thursday, 18th March 2021 through to Sunday, 21st March 2021.
This, they said, is to enable teachers, parents, and students prepare for the academic year.
“This is to enable the students and parents have ample time to prepare for school and School Management also prepare to receive them. Management has also noted that some students have not yet enrolled and the extension will give these students the opportunity to do so as well”, they said in a press statement dated 7th March 2021.
Hence, academic work, according to GES, will commence fully on Monday, 22nd March 2021.
They have also granted an optional mid-semester break to senior high school students. This was per a request made by heads of senior high schools.
“Management has granted the request of Heads of Senior High Schools to have Mid Semester Break from Monday 8th March to Thursday 11th March 2021. This Mid Semester break is not compulsory and so students who wish to stay on campus must be fed and adhere to school rules.”
