A fan who called out Burna Boy for taking money for his state-sponsored homecoming event in March was quickly cut short by the singer.
Burna Boy said he did not ‘take a dime’ for the March event.
He added that only the artistes who honored him by performing at the homecoming event were paid.
Prior to this, his mother and manager explained in an interview the reasons why his son and artiste can not take money for this event.
She said, ‘they were honoring him, he was not paid to be there. For want for a better word, as my people say, it is only a bastard that refuses honor in his father’s house. For me, I do not really pay too much attention to such because I was really busy and that is the honest truth. The facts are very clear, this man was honored because he got the highest award in his field, in the world.’
No wonder Burna Boy told this fan to get his facts right.
