Ghana Police Service gives update on murdered Sogakope South Assemblyman

The Ghana Police service in a press release today, 23rd April 2020, gave an update on the murdered Sogakope South assemblyman Hon. Marcus Mawutor Adzhali.

According to them, one Vincent Adjei believed to be the ring leader in the murder of Hon. Marcus Mawutor Adzhali on Sunday, 1st March 2020, has been remanded by the Dabala District Court to reappear in court on 26th May 2020.

They added that four other persons namely, Bright Awuya, Franklin Tetteh, Ansong Tetteh, and Amos Agaklah were also remanded by the Dabala District court on the same crime.

In paragraph 3 of the press release, the Ghana Police Service said the suspects were arrested from different locations across the country.

Background


Assemblyman for Sogakope South Hon. Marcus Mawutor Adzhali was murdered in his residence on Sunday, 1st March 2020, by unknown assailants.

They left his wife and daughter injured, while breaking into their safe, reported to contain huge sums of money.

Since his death, there have been both chaotic and peaceful demonstrations in Sogakope demanding justice from the police.
