West African Football Academy (WAFA) has picked up their first win of the 2021/2022 Ghana Premier League season beating Accra Great Olympics 1-0 on Saturday, November 27, 2021, matchday 5.

A penalty goal by Justus Torsutsey in the dying minutes of the second half saw WAFA grab all three points for the first time this season after 5 matches.

Although Accra Great Olympics Coach was unhappy about the penalty decision, WAFA coach believes they deserve the win despite the penalty call.

“… Regardless of the penalty, I thought we to deserve to win…,” WAFA coach Hamdan Z. Guillermo said in a post-match interview.

Man of the match, Konadu Yiadom says the victory will motivate them to do much better in their subsequent games.

Before the Christmas break, WAFA will face Aduana Stars and Ashanti Gold on matchdays 6 and 7 respectively.

Currently, they sit 14th on the league table with 5 points.
