John Dramani Mahama urges the police to step up efforts to arrest Mawutor’s killers

Yesterday, 7th March 2020, a delegation of senior officials from the National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by former President John Dramani Mahama visited the parents and family of the late Hon. Marcus Mawutor Adzhali in Toklokpo, Sogakope.

Mawutor was murdered last Sunday, 1st March 2020, in his residence in Sogakope by a group of gunmen.

His sudden death has inspired a series of demonstrations against the police force and just yesterday a candlelight vigil.

From the Facebook post of the former president, it’s obvious they’ve been briefed about all the events since the murder of the Sogakope South Assemblyman.

“The circumstances surrounding the failure of the security agencies to respond to numerous calls from the deceased and his neighbors over the period the robbers were trying to break down his door, has angered both the youth and the elderly in the Community,” he wrote.

He expressed on behalf of the NDC their deepest condolences and urged the police to step up efforts to arrest the perpetrators of this heinous crime.
