Member of Parliament (MP) for South Tongu, Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome has embarked on a project to provide laboratories for all health centers in the South Tongu District without them.
He is almost done with the Dabala health center lab which he will commission in February.
Adutor and Kpotame health centers are key among some of the health facilities to benefit from the MP’s initiative.
The initiative, according to the MP, is to reduce traffic on the Sogakope District Hospital and the Richard Novati Catholic Hospital.
“This initiative is to decentralize services to some of the health facilities at the primary level so that at the end of the day we can reduce the traffic at the secondary level which is the District Hospital as well as the Comboni Hospital,” he said at a handing over ceremony in Dabala.
He added that the project is to ensure the health facilities in the district can boast of a laboratory.
“The project was embarked on to ensure that we have labs at many of the health facilities.”
