A former National Democratic Congress (NDC) Parliamentary Aspirant (PA) for the Anlo Constituency in the Volta Region, Mr. Joseph Agbeko Kpogo as well as the Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the Constituency in the 2020 elections, Mr. Richard Kwame Sefe have donated some basic health items including veronica buckets for distribution to the twenty-eight (28) electoral areas of the constituency.
According to the two gentlemen of the area, the donation was their widow’s mite towards preventing the spread of the Coronavirus pandemic in the constituency.
The donated items included thirty (30) veronica buckets, five (5) packets of tissue paper, thirty (30) pieces of liquid soaps as well as forty-five (45) pieces of alcohol-based hand sanitisers, all valued at Seven Thousand, Five Hundred Ghana Cedis (Ghc7,500.00). The wife of the PC, Mrs. Sefe also supported the husband and Mr. Kpogo to acquire the items for the constituents.
The items were meant particularly for the remote parts of the Constituency including the Shime and Kome areas which are not only water-logged but also hard to reach almost throughout the year.
Presenting the items, Mr. Kpogo said the Coronavirus pandemic does not know anybody or any party colours, adding that all and sundry must come on board to help prevent its spread.
He stressed the need for the members of the constituency to help stem the spread of the virus through strict observance of the health protocols associated with the pandemic. Mr. Kpogo called on the government and for that matter the Ministry of Health (MOH) and the Ghana Health Service (GHS) to intensify their campaign on the disease to ensure that the spread is minimized.
The PC, Mr. Sefe who received the items, was grateful to Mr. Kpogo for the support. He reiterated the need for all and sundry to come on board to jointly defeat the virus from the country. He, therefore, stressed the need for all well-meaning individuals and organizations in the Anlo Constituency and beyond to contribute their quota towards the eradication of the pandemic from the country.
Mr. Sefe later handed over the items to the Anlo NDC Constituency Chairman, Mr. Rolex Agbey Miheso for distribution to the beneficiary electoral areas. He was very grateful for the gesture, assuring that the items would be fairly given out to the constituents to enable its intended purpose to be achieved.
