The Minister for Roads and Highways Mr Kwasi Amoako-Atta has informed Parliament on Tuesday, 13th July 2021, that a warning letter will be issued to the road contractor working on the bitumen surfacing of town roads in Tefle in the South Tongu District of the Volta Region ‘as soon as possible.’
The bitumen surfacing of these roads which was awarded to Kin K Limited has been delayed by more than two months.
Mr Kwasi Amoako-Atta said the warning letter is to re-mobilize the contractor to site, failure of which the necessary processes would be initiated to terminate the contract and repackaged for award.
The contract was awarded to Kin K Limited on 13th February 2020. Work commenced on 8th June 2020 for completion on 7th June 2021. However, it has since not been completed.
Member of Parliament for South Tongu, Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome was eager to know when this warning letter will be issued because to him it’s clear that the work has been delayed.
