Skirt and blouse voting did not help us – South Tongu MP

Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome
South Tongu MP

While Hon. Kobena Mensah Woyome was announcing a town hall meeting in some parts of South Tongu, he mentioned that skirt and blouse voting did not help the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2020 general elections.

He said if not for skirt and blouse voting, the NDC would have won the 2020 elections.

“Skirt and blouse voting did not help us. If not, we would have won the 2020 elections by a big margin. Even if the elections were rigged, we would have won”, the member of parliament for South Tongu said during a visit to Agortakpo.

He supported these claims by referencing a research work on skirt and blouse voting.

He said 4 out of 10 NDC supporters who listened to the skirt and blouse voting did not vote for the NDC.

Thus, he urged the people of South Tongu to avoid such practices during the 2024 elections.

He even alleged in one of his talks that some people were contracted to push the agenda of the skirt and blouse voting.

“Some people have been contracted to push the agenda of skirt and blouse voting.”

Hon. Kobena Woyome has already ended phase one of his town hall meeting which he began on Monday, 12th April 2021. He began phase two today, Wednesday, 21st April 2021.
